Accent? What Accent?

Accent? What Accent?

Apprently I haven't lost my midwestern twang even after living in New England for almost twenty years (not counting the four years during college).

On the other hand, the quiz seemed mostly to concentrate on the difference between "aw" and "oh", the difference between "eh" and "ay", and the difference between "ee" and "ih".  I'm not sure that that's a lot from which to make a determination of this apparent level of precision.

And yesss, I called soda "pop" until I got tired of people making fun of me.

Oh, and listen!  The builder has given us a promised completion date of February 15; I'm going to call the movers to get the furniture out of storage on the 23rd, and by the evening of the 24th we should be living at home again!  Keep your fingers crossed!
  • It's because I posted more of Ron the Builder. *curtsies* I'm really glad to hear that news. That should eliminate lots of stress for your whole family.
    • We really have to do something about this megalomania thing, Mary. Although, as you know, my builder is named Ron...
  • Oh, yes - if you keep going east they call it "pop" again. No soda in Nova Scotia, it's pop. Go figure.
    • Maybe Michigan was colonised by Nova Scotians? **Ducks as his high school history teacher throws something at him**
  • I took that a couple of weeks ago and got the same thing, natch.

And actually, it's "pop" all over Canada. Funny, eh? ;)

I'm THRILLED for you about the house!!!
  • Glad about your house. Must quite a feeling living half in half out of a house. Now you get your roof.

I scored "Philadelphia" accent. Fair enough. I've been living in Maryland for a long time now....and soda is soda down here.
